“Hey Kid. I Found You.” Session
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:3
Do you remember this?
• You danced without music—spinning, twirling, moving freely.
• You laughed at your own jokes—even if no one else did.
• You talked to your stuffed animals and imaginary friends, because to you, they were real.
• You wore costumes to the grocery store—superhero capes, princess dresses, a pirate hat… why not?
• You asked “why” a million times—never satisfied with surface answers.
• You made up elaborate stories—full of wild twists, adventure, and imagination.
• You ran everywhere instead of walking—because why walk when you could sprint?
• You built forts out of blankets and pillows—transforming ordinary spaces into magical hideaways.
• You found shapes in the clouds—seeing dragons, castles, and faces where others saw nothing.
• You jumped in puddles instead of avoiding them—because splashing was the whole point.
• You tried to fly by jumping off furniture—because maybe this time, it would work.
• You picked up random objects and turned them into treasures—a rock, a button, a bottle cap—it meant something.
• You sang at the top of your lungs—with no fear, no hesitation, just joy.
• You talked to animals like they understood you—and somehow, it felt like they did.
• You believed in magic—because, deep down, you knew anything was possible.
• You made friends instantly—“You like dinosaurs? I like dinosaurs! We’re best friends now.”
• You got completely lost in play—time disappeared when you were creating.
• You said what was on your mind—pure honesty, no filter.
• You turned everyday objects into something else—a spoon was a microphone, a box was a spaceship.
• You pretended the floor was lava—because life was more fun when it was an adventure.
• You ate foods in weird ways—only eating the middle of the sandwich, licking the frosting first, making everything into a face.
• You collected weird things—rocks, stickers, buttons, tiny trinkets that felt special.
• You spun in circles until you fell over—just to feel dizzy and giggle about it.
• You whispered secrets to your best friend—even if the secret was completely made up.
• You played “make-believe” for hours—because to you, it wasn’t pretending. It was real.
• You challenged yourself for no reason—“I bet I can hop on one foot all the way to the kitchen!”
• You celebrated the tiniest things—a four-leaf clover, a lucky penny, a cool rock.
• You fearlessly expressed your emotions—laughing, crying, getting excited—never holding back.
• You blew on dandelions and made wishes—fully believing they could come true.
• You saw adventure in everything—a simple walk became a quest.
Take a second and notice the shift that just took place in you now simply by reading this and remembering or picturing yourself as a kid.
And then, the world told you to stop.
“Grow up.”
“Be responsible.”
“That’s not how life works.”
“You can’t make a living doing that.”
So you shrank.
You let go of the dreams, the wonder, the magic.
But what if I told you…
That child never left you.
They’re still inside, waiting.
Waiting for you to notice them again.
